Project file collaboration

Share project files through personal versions, review changes and integrate shared work. Conversation history sync is separate.

About project file collaboration

Project members and their AI agents can share and review files together. GT Cloud uploads are readable by all project members. GitHub visibility and access are managed separately on GitHub. Each local device needs separate file access authorization. Review files for secrets before upload.

Choose GitHub for larger or long-term projects, or GT Cloud for small trials. They are independent options; connecting GitHub does not migrate or delete GT Cloud files. After local GitHub authorization, settled changes upload automatically while idle. Conversation sync stays separate.

Cloud deletion

Delete from cloud?

Shared cloud history will be permanently removed. Local projects, files, Codex tasks, and Agent conversations stay on every device.

Mentions

No mentions in this project.

Leave this project?

You will lose access to its cloud sessions and code. Your local files and Agent conversations will not be deleted. Ask the owner for a new invitation if you want to rejoin.

Project connector

Connect Claude Code

Keep Claude Code signed in on this computer. Connect once, then use it from any of your signed-in devices.

Enter the exact model ID configured in Claude Code. This connection will not switch models automatically.

Claude Code plugin and terminal setup

Install the GatherThread plugin to browse projects, read shared context and send chat from Claude Code. Review its Hooks before enabling local conversation upload.

Source-checkout instructions

The Launcher connects one independent device. Your password is not saved. You can revoke this device in Settings.

Project connector

Connect Codex

Use the Launcher to connect this project to Codex Desktop. Your other signed-in devices stay connected.

Terminal connection · Linux and advanced setup
  1. Install once

The manual terminal path requires Node 24+ and a signed-in Codex Desktop.

    Source-checkout instructions

Download the Codex connector TGZ for this server. Replace LOCAL_CODEX_CONNECTOR.tgz below with its full file path.

For Hooks, check out the source commit shown on the download page. The connector TGZ does not contain the Codex plugin.

If Terminal says “command not found: codex”

On macOS, if ChatGPT Desktop is installed in Applications, check its bundled Codex CLI and add it to this terminal's PATH:

codex_dir='/Applications/ChatGPT.app/Contents/Resources/codex-cli/CodexCLI.app/Contents/MacOS' if [ -x "$codex_dir/codex" ]; then export PATH="$codex_dir:$PATH"; codex --version; else echo 'Bundled Codex CLI not found'; fi

If the version appears, save the PATH change for future zsh terminals, then check plugin support:

echo 'export PATH="/Applications/ChatGPT.app/Contents/Resources/codex-cli/CodexCLI.app/Contents/MacOS:$PATH"' >> ~/.zshrc source ~/.zshrc codex plugin --help

If that file is missing, or you use another system, follow the official Codex CLI installation guide.

    Codex plugin
git clone https://github.com/TH060419/gatherthread.git cd gatherthread git checkout SOURCE_COMMIT_FROM_DOWNLOADS_PAGE npm ci npm run build:ts && npm run build:connector node plugins/gatherthread/scripts/prepare-source-plugin.mjs codex plugin marketplace add "PREPARED_PLUGIN_DIRECTORY" codex plugin add gatherthread@gatherthread-source

Replace PREPARED_PLUGIN_DIRECTORY with the path printed by the preparation command. Disable older GatherThread plugin copies in Codex before enabling this prepared plugin.

Updating this source copy? First run codex plugin marketplace remove gatherthread-source, then add the new prepared directory. This refreshes plugin registration, not your project files.

  2. Connect this project

For the terminal fallback, create an authorization below and paste it into the hidden CLI prompt.

    macOS / Linux

    Windows PowerShell
    Windows PowerShell

  3. Confirm in Codex

Restart Codex Desktop. Review and enable the GatherThread Hooks, then keep the terminal open.

Authorize a Codex device

This authorizes one new device to act under your account. Revoke it later in Settings. The authorization expires in 10 minutes.

What gets synchronized?

Editable sessions appear as Codex tasks. Web requests run separately; approved Hooks return direct Desktop turns to the same shared history.

A new local task creates a personal Solo only after its first completed turn. Viewer tasks stay local.

The Launcher connects one independent device. Your password is not saved. You can revoke this device in Settings.

Plugin-first connection

Connect DeepSeek Harness

The plugin connects outward from DSH to the current GatherThread server. Setup takes three steps.

Beta 6 Current server only
  1. Install once

Requires Node 24+ and pnpm 10.

    Source-checkout instructions

Download the DSH plugin TGZ for this server. Replace LOCAL_DSH_PLUGIN.tgz below with its full file path.

On Windows, use a full path such as C:/Users/you/Downloads/your-plugin.tgz.

    DSH plugin

  2. Open DSH

Start the verified Web profile, then leave it running.

    Verified DSH version: 0.2.1-rc.2

  3. Pair this server

Open Settings → GatherThread / 共序 in DSH. Paste the current local, LAN, self-hosted, or Tailscale server, then choose “Sign in and pair”.

Approve the single-use code in this browser. The saved device credential stays inside DSH.

Your DeepSeek Harness devices

    Advanced / offline fallback

The repository CLI connector remains available for diagnostics and offline development. It is not required for the normal npm plugin path.

    One-time device authorization

    Connect this DeepSeek Harness?

Confirm that this short code matches the code shown in DSH. Approval creates a new local Agent device for your current GatherThread identity.

Only approve a DSH instance you control. This code is single-use and expires shortly.

    Personal API

    Use your own cloud model

Your provider bills your own usage. GatherThread still applies shared-server safety limits.

Only your account can use these connections. Saved keys are encrypted on the server and never shown again. Choose one under Cloud Agent when sending a request.

Your Agent replies show your avatar with an Agent badge.

A friendly name helps you recognize this browser. It does not change your account or Codex credentials.

Sign in on another device with the same email and password. Signing out here does not sign out your other devices. Revoke a device below if you no longer trust it.

To use your computer's Agent from your phone, keep its connector running and choose that Agent device. Authorize each new Agent separately.

    Account & privacy

    Delete my account

Permanent for this account. Review the effects before confirming.

Transfer or delete projects you own first. Your Solo cloud conversations will be deleted; shared Multi messages remain but are shown as from a deleted member. All your device credentials and browser sessions are revoked. Local Codex and DSH files are not changed.

    Sync & context

    Native context management

The local Agent manages compaction. Transfer limits and initial-history import remain separate.

Codex fallback context budgetUse the Agent's native context management. This value is only Codex's fallback estimate when its model window is unavailable; it does not resize a model. DSH keeps its own compaction settings.

    Summaries

Summaries organize conversations for easier reading and help your AI agent focus on key conclusions. Generating a summary consumes model quota; token savings are not guaranteed.

Applies to future Agent requests started from GatherThread and explicit MCP context reads. It does not rewrite a running turn, remove existing Codex Desktop task history, or replace history already injected into ordinary DSH sessions.

    Cloud Git

    Storage & cleanup

Enable project file sharing for complete AI agent team collaboration. When disabled, only text is shared; files cannot be exchanged. Reserve disabling it for strict privacy requirements.

    Loading cloud Git storage…

View your quota and choose when to remove cloud copies. Your local Git history is always left alone.

    Agents

    Default Agent

Codex supplies this project's connection command and handles new Agent requests by default.

    Available Agents

Choose the Agents available in this project. Cloud Agent needs no local connection.

Custom Codex modelAdd a safe model ID such as a compatible proxy model. Credentials and CLI arguments are never accepted here.
This registers a model name for calls; it does not configure model access. Configure a supported model in Codex first, then add its name here.

    Composer

    Message behavior

    Controls only this browser.

    Notifications

    Attention

In-page alerts always work. Saving an enabled notification requests browser permission for background system alerts.

    Generate summary

This uses your selected local Agent and may consume model quota. Only the selected records are supplied as this request's shared-history context; this does not guarantee sandbox isolation from local tools or files. Instructions and the result are shared with session readers.

Summaries are derived and lossy. Original records stay available. Already-loaded Codex or DSH history is not removed; native automatic compaction still manages it.

    Summary versions

Toolbar arrows switch all history; arrows on a summary switch only that section. Originals are preserved. Display changes do not change Agent context.
