Project file collaboration

Share project files through personal versions, review changes and integrate shared work. Conversation history sync is separate.

About project file collaboration

Project members and their AI agents can share, review, modify and manage files together. Uploaded files are readable within the project, not public, and used only for this project's collaboration. Each local device needs separate file access authorization. Review files for secrets before upload.

We recommend enabling project file sharing for full AI agent collaboration: members can share, modify and manage project files together. Turn it off only for strict privacy needs; only text will sync, without file exchange or cloud recovery. Automatic file upload starts off and is a separate choice. Stored versions remain until explicitly cleared in Settings.

Cloud deletion

Delete from cloud?

Shared cloud history will be permanently removed. Local projects, files, Codex tasks, and Agent conversations stay on every device.

Mentions

No mentions in this project.

Leave this project?

You will lose access to its cloud sessions and code. Your local files and Agent conversations will not be deleted. Ask the owner for a new invitation if you want to rejoin.

Project connector

Connect Codex

A local connector keeps this project connected to Codex Desktop. Follow the manual terminal steps, or use the optional Windows/macOS Launcher.

Alpha preview Current server only
  1. Install once

The manual terminal path requires Node 24+ and a signed-in Codex Desktop. Add the fixed GatherThread plugin.

If Terminal reports “codex: command not found”, first run npm install -g @openai/codex, reopen Terminal, and confirm codex plugin --help works.

  2. Connect this project

Choose your terminal. The device token is requested by a hidden CLI prompt.

    Windows PowerShell

  3. Confirm in Codex

Restart Codex Desktop. Review and enable the GatherThread Hooks, then keep the terminal open.

What gets synchronized?

Editable sessions appear as Codex tasks. Web requests run separately; approved Hooks return direct Desktop turns to the same shared history.

A new local task creates a personal Solo only after its first completed turn. Viewer tasks stay local.

On supported Windows and macOS, this page can open the installed Launcher. Manual commands remain available. No token is placed in a command, URL, or shared history.

Plugin-first connection

Connect DeepSeek Harness

The plugin connects outward from DSH to the current GatherThread server. Setup takes three steps.

Alpha preview Current server only
  1. Install once

Requires Node 24+ and pnpm 10. Add the GatherThread plugin to the DSH Web profile.

    DSH plugin

  2. Open DSH

Start the verified Web profile, then leave it running.

    Verified DSH version: 0.1.2-rc.1

  3. Pair this server

Open Settings → GatherThread / 共序 in DSH. Paste the current local, LAN, self-hosted, or Tailscale server, then choose “Sign in and pair”.

Approve the single-use code in this browser. The saved device credential stays inside DSH.

Your DeepSeek Harness devices

    Advanced / offline fallback

The repository CLI connector remains available for diagnostics and offline development. It is not required for the normal npm plugin path.

    One-time device authorization

    Connect this DeepSeek Harness?

Confirm that this short code matches the code shown in DSH. Approval creates a new local Agent device for your current GatherThread identity.

Only approve a DSH instance you control. This code is single-use and expires shortly.

Transfer or delete projects you own first. Your Solo cloud conversations will be deleted; shared Multi messages remain but are shown as from a deleted member. All your device credentials and browser sessions are revoked. Local Codex and DSH files are not changed.

    Sync & context

    Native context management

The local Agent manages compaction. Transfer limits and initial-history import remain separate.

Codex fallback context budgetUse the Agent's native context management. This value is only Codex's fallback estimate when its model window is unavailable; it does not resize a model. DSH keeps its own compaction settings.

    Summaries

Summaries organize conversations for easier reading and help your AI agent focus on key conclusions. Generating a summary consumes model quota; token savings are not guaranteed.

Applies to future Agent requests started from GatherThread and explicit MCP context reads. It does not rewrite a running turn, remove existing Codex Desktop task history, or replace history already injected into ordinary DSH sessions.

    Cloud Git

    Storage & cleanup

Enable project file sharing for complete AI agent team collaboration. When disabled, only text is shared; files cannot be exchanged. Reserve disabling it for strict privacy requirements.

    Agents

    Default local Agent

Codex supplies this project's connection command and handles new Agent requests by default.

Custom Codex modelAdd a safe model ID such as a compatible proxy model. Credentials and CLI arguments are never accepted here.
This registers a model name for calls; it does not configure model access. Configure a supported model in Codex first, then add its name here.

    Message behavior

    Notifications

    Attention

In-page alerts always work. Saving an enabled notification requests browser permission for background system alerts.

    Generate summary

This uses your selected local Agent and may consume model quota. Only the selected records are supplied as this request's shared-history context; this does not guarantee sandbox isolation from local tools or files. Instructions and the result are shared with session readers.

Summaries are derived and lossy. Original records stay available. Already-loaded Codex or DSH history is not removed; native automatic compaction still manages it.

    Summary versions

Toolbar arrows switch all history; arrows on a summary switch only that section. Originals are preserved. Display changes do not change Agent context.
